HTML5 Pack for Illustrator CS5

We’ve all bared witness to Adobe’s dedication to Flash, but now see the company also embracing HTML5. Adobe has just released a free HTML5 Pack for Illustrator CS5 that turns Illustrator into an HTML5 authoring tool for web and device content. The pack allows users to:

• Export named character styles as CSS
• Export artwork appearances as CSS
• Include selected Graphic Styles as CSS in SVG
• Create parameterized SVG (vector graphics tagged with variables)
• Create multi-screen SVG (leveraging media queries to serve up design variations)

Check out Mordy Golding’s summary for more information.

There is also a demo by Adobe Evangelist Greg Rewis that is worth looking at here (requires Flash).

Nike+ for the Win

Today Nike made me very happy. I have a pair of Nike running shoes that I love for their style and comfort, but are not Nike+ compatible. As a result, I purchased a “pouch” to attach the Nike+ sensor to my shoes, but have only had limited success with my runs being tracked accurately. To my surprise and delight, Nike has given my run-tracking a much brighter future by announcing the new Nike+ GPS app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Get it on iTunes now!
